Martha Stewart entered the iPhone app fray today with Martha’s Everyday Food: Fresh & Easy Recipes. The app allows the user to create shopping lists of ingredients for specific recipes from the archives of Everyday Food. Today is also the release date for Martha’s 70th book from Clarkson Potter, Everyday Food: Fresh Flavor Fast (say that three times fast), according to LA Weekly. We’re pretty certain Martha herself had little input on the final product, which was authored by the elves back in “The Kitchens of Martha Stewart Living,” but perhaps she penned a pithy introductory page about how these are some of her *favorite* weeknight recipes, which is of course a lie to make housewives believe like she’s just like them.

Earlier this month, we learned the Roxy space wouldn’t be revived anytime soon, and now there’s word about another westside clubbing icon, the Copacabana. The long-standing Latin establishment closed in July of 2007 when the city condemned its West 34th Street home (the fourth in its history) in order to make way for the 7-train extension. The club is now temporarily housed at John Juliano’s other place, Columbus 72, but we hear (and the broker on the deal, Alex Picken confirms) that the Copa is in contract at 760 Eighth Avenue, near 47th Street, which used to house another legendary nightspot, the China Club (more recently it’s been home to Eden). Picken tells us that Juliano is planning to install a retractable glass roof along the lines of the dome at Hudson Terrace, so that partygoers can salsa during the winter. The club will plead their case to Community Board 5’s quality of life committee on March 3, and hopes to open about three months from now.

Cheapeats on Bombay Express Indian Restaurant

Being a New Yorker, we sometimes forget all that is available to us. It’s when we get a chance to see the city…

Bushwick: The as-yet-unopened Free Wifi chose its name as a clever metonym for their focus on plugging in. A soft preview of the large, open space — which will offer live music, liquor, coffee, and some food — might happen later this week. [BushwickBK]
Carroll Gardens: The Urban Meadow team is gauging interest for Columbia Street’s very own CSA, based out of Urban Meadow, a community garden located at the corner of President and Van Brunt Streets. [Word on Columbia Street]
Dumbo: The Dumbo–Vinegar Hill CSA is hosting an informational meeting on March 2. [Dumbo NYC]
Downtown Brooklyn: A restaurant is in the works for the bottom floor of Bridgeview Tower at 189 Bridge Street. [Brownstoner]

East Village: New on S’MAC’s menu: a salsa picante macaroni and cheese, with pepper jack, cheddar, salsa, chicken breast, and cilantro. [Grub Street]
Upper East Side: The David Burke Townhouse hosts a “very special four-course wine dinner” with sommelier Larry Stone. Call 212-813-2121 for tickets, which run $175 a person. [Grub Street]
Upper West Side: The Fatty empire’s various locations join forces at Fatty Crab UWS, each providing three dishes, two specialty cocktails, and unlimited seconds for, in their words, “a culinary and cocktail tour de force the likes of which are rarely seen above 14th street.” Decide for yourself March 3 at 7:30 p.m.; call 212-496-2722 for the $59 tickets. [Grub Street]

The Whole Foods site along the Gowanus Canal should be “decontaminated” by the end of April, an environmental consultant for the company said at a Community Board meeting yesterday. Whole Foods is “still committed” to building a store at the site, but for people who need their groceries in a timely fashion, there’s still the Pathmark on 12th Street. [NYP]

We just spoke to a rather tight-lipped owner of Black Market, the lounge that replaces Pizza Shop today. He told us he wasn’t doing press but couldn’t help revealing that the crux of the menu, which launches tomorrow, will be cheeseburgers and oysters. Somewhere around ten dishes will be served from Tuesday through Sunday, 6 p.m. till midnight, including a salad and a shrimp cocktail. Oh, and real cocktails by Sam Anderson of Hotel Delmano. The food won’t be anything fancy, but count on “excellent purveyors” (Pat LaFrieda, in the case of the cheeseburger). No reservations accepted unless (we can only assume) you’re the type who can step to the door of the owners’ other place Cabin Down Below without hearing the words “private party.” But starting tomorrow, walk-ins are welcome at the room’s 60 seats. But take note: According to Eater, the roll-down gates will remain closed while the restaurant is opened, so look for the door to the right.

Arriba! Arriba! Viva La Lucha – Sacalo del Ring (loosely translated to taking the fight out of the ring)!! Nestled in…

La Lucha Tacos & Boutique

147 Ave A, New York

With borough-hopping becoming increasingly popular, Time Out asks Manhattan restaurateurs Ken Friedman, Michael White, and Drew Nieporent if they’d open in Brooklyn (no, eh, and sure, respectively), and asks folks from Franny’s, Roberta’s, and Saul if they’d consider Manhattan (no, hell yes, and sure, respectively). Ken Friedman gives the most incendiary answer (“I didn’t move 3,500 miles across the country to live in Brooklyn”), while Carlo Mirarchi of Roberta’s says he’d like to open a crudo restaurant in Gotham. The thing about Manhattan, Carlo, is that it’s much harder to build a Roberta’s-style bonfire on your back patio.
