Sort of the opposite of the little black dress.

This week, we’re celebrating 2012 by looking at the celebs who played their own NYE in a low-key fashion, spending the holiday by indulging in a mouthwatering last meal of the year. Following her performance in Times Square, Christina Aguilera and her boyfriend enjoyed truffle macaroni and cheese and cabaret from a corner booth at Bistro Chat Noir. Beyoncé and Jay-Z followed suit; the couple rang in the New Year with an intimate dinner at Buttermilk Channel in Brooklyn, where they dined on fried chicken and oysters. And back across the bridge, Lady Gaga sported jewel-encrusted tights (okay, not that low-key) and a star-studded guest list while hosting an after-party at her father’s trattoria, Joanne. All this and more celebrity settings, straight ahead.

Diddy, sans Diaz.

Though Ed Westwick ditched his recent hero role in favor of more Scroogelike antics, there were plenty of celebrities showing off high spirits — and perhaps caught under some mistletoe — this week. After meeting twelve friends for dinner at Marble Lane on Saturday, Cameron Diaz spent the rest of the night on PH-D’s dance floor with Diddy. Paired with an intimate dinner at Catch earlier this year, Diaz and Diddy’s makeout session seems to be more than just friendly. Speaking of Catch, recent sightings suggest their menu may contain a few aphrodisiacs: Joe Jonas enamored Brazilian model Jessica Pott at Top Chef Hung Huynh’s restaurant one night, while saxiphonist Kenny G dined with three beautiful women on another. After spending a few days in Boston, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively enjoyed Saturday in New York, kicking off the day with a breakfast of champions at Stanton Social. The duo hit Mojo Coffee for a quick caffeine fix, and dined at Serendipity 3 that night. This and more celebrity settings, straight ahead.

Josh Charles at the Alex’s Lemonade Stand benefit on Tuesday.

For us, recalling these past few days conjures a blur of gift guides and New Year’s Eve plans, each “best of” list more daunting than the last. But celebs were not only seemingly impervious to holiday stresses this week, they were particularly on their games. The Chew kicked off the holiday season with bowling at Lucky Strike Lanes, while ABC World News’s party at the Tribeca Grand provoked some pretty intense dance-offs. But it wasn’t all competition between opposing teams: Kristen Wiig was linked to a new flame this week, first at recently opened Lilium on Monday and again at a holiday party in Soho two days later. And although skillful, the paparazzi-deflecting coat-over-the-head trick mastered by GQ’s honorary Bro of the Year was nothing compared to Ed Westwick’s heroic showing at Barrow Street Ale House the other night. In a move uncharacteristic of Chuck Bass, the Gossip Girl actor took matters into his own hands when a belligerent reveler knocked a row of drinks onto the floor. This and more celebrity settings, straight ahead.

Greenhouse: D.J. Pauly D ran up a $2,000 tab with a few friends while fist-pumping and filming scenes for his new MTV spinoff last Thursday. The reality star left a $500 tip and even called the waitress the next day to say thanks. Now that’s an ideal Gorilla Guido Juicehead. [Page Six/NYP]

Save for a lone Bradley Cooper wandering the West Village, most stars flew under the radar during the days surrounding Thanksgiving. And even though we’ve shifted our attention from leftovers to holiday parties, this week’s boost in our celebrity-spotting tally is certainly something to be thankful for. Jessica Simpson sported heels with her baby bump at Marble Lane and Fred’s at Barneys, while Anne Hathaway was overheard discussing her wedding plans at La Esquina. Beer and lobster macaroni and cheese is a great combo.

Celeb news had the potential to spark fierce team loyalties this week, with Bradley Cooper beating out Ryan Gosling as Sexiest Man of the Year and Demi Moore announcing she’ll divorce Ashton Kutcher. But whether you’re Occupying People magazine’s offices, or tweeting @mrskutcher to give it another try, one thing we can all agree on is the importance of keeping tabs on the eternally changing list of celebrity hot spots in New York. Russell and Kimora Lee Simmons enjoyed a dinner date at Catch last night, while Padma Lakshmi chowed down on a cookie basket at a neighboring table. Kid Rock is apparently a strong supporter of the macaroni and cheese at Lexington Brass. You might think New York’s hot spots wouldn’t fare so well in the days leading up to the Victoria’s Secret fashion show, but that wasn’t the case this week, as the usual star-studded eateries didn’t disappoint in celebrity sightings. The Dream Downtown hosted a slew of genetically blessed revelers for the after-party on Wednesday night, and Leonardo DiCaprio was one of many who later migrated to Avenue to continue the party. DiCaprio, who celebrates his 37th today, also enjoyed a more low-key night this week when he swung by Ovest for a few pizzas with friends. This and more celebrity settings, straight ahead.

Bon Jovi ate well this week!

Last weekend’s chance snowstorm certainly caught New York off guard, destroying over a thousand trees in Central Park and leaving millions of people across the Northeast without power. But when there’s a full weekend’s agenda of Halloween party-hopping ahead, a little slush won’t stop celebs from venturing out into the elements. Heidi Klum kept warm in a monkey suit as she hosted her twelfth annual Halloween bash at PH-D on Monday, with a roster of boldfaced names like Fergie, Amber Rose, and Tyson Beckford in attendance. Models Miranda Kerr and Anja Rubik (who co-hosted her gypsy-themed soiree with Kanye West) threw rival Halloween parties at Catch and the Darby, respectively. Don’t let him get in his zone.

Sometimes celebrities are so good at publicly playing up their onscreen roles, that you wonder if it’s all part of the show. For example, does it come as a surprise to learn that Kanye and Diddy partied all night downing expensive champagne? Or that Snooki and her Jersey Shore paramour celebrated their anniversary at a meatpacking district steakhouse? Then again, we never would have guessed Anderson Cooper would be caught dining alone, or that Jay-Z would save the day at CO-OP when Ne-Yo had to split unexpectedly. But such was the week in celebrity sightings. Lots more where that came from, straight ahead.

Wyclef occasionally stops rocking to have lunch.

Birthdays can excuse all sorts of behavior, and celebrities have been known to rely on this idea like the rest of us. While Susan Sarandon rang in her 65th at recently opened Pulqueria this week, Zach Galifianakis took a different approach to commemorate his special day. The comedian kicked off his 42nd birthday with a pregame an interview at The New Yorker festival on Saturday, where he sipped Budweiser tall boys and brought 500 mini-cupcakes for the crowd. His Bored to Death co-star Jonathan Ames celebrated this week, too — this and more celebrity settings, straight ahead.

Andaz Fifth Avenue: David Remnick hosted a post–New Yorker Festival party here that went late into Saturday night. He was joined by birthday boy Zach Galifianakis, Malcolm Gladwell, Michael Cera, Portia de Rossi, and Zadie Smith, to name a few. [Page Six/NYP]
Babycakes: Zach Galifianakis brought 500 of their cupcakes to The New Yorker Festival on Saturday, and asked the audience to sing him a rendition of “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” in return for the gluten-free treats. The bakers at Babycakes recount the behind-the-scenes story of a frantic Galifianakis, the mesmerizing powers of his red beard, and the all-nighter they pulled to complete his request the day before. [Babycakes NYC, Page Six/NYP]
Brother Jimmy’s: Wyclef Jean enjoyed a lunch of barbecue before he left without his iPad, which he recently stocked with in-progress works. An onlooker described seeing Wyclef’s server chase him down the street to return the forgotten goods, and Wyclef cradle the tablet and exclaim to the waiter that he “saved his day.” [Page Six/NYP]
Fresco by Scotto: With the season already two episodes in, it’s time to keep our eyes open for Gossip Girl spottings around Manhattan. The cast, including Blake Lively back from a weekend getaway to Boston with Ryan Reynolds, shared dinner on Tuesday night. [Page Six/NYP]
The Jane: Scarlett Johansson, whose grandmother campaigned and worked with Scott Stringer decades ago, presented the mayoral candidate for New York City on Monday night. [Daily Intel]
Madam Geneva: The Ides of March after-party at the Metropolitan Club on Wednesday was followed by an after-after-party, as the cast and supportive celebs toasted the movie’s co-writer, Beau Willimon. [Fanity/VF]
Marble Lane: Miami Heat players Lebron James and Dwayne Wade took advantage of some time off from meetings while in New York this week; they met Carmelo Anthony of the Knicks and an entourage of around twelve guys for dinner — including fellow NBA all stars Baron Davis and Ray Allen — on Saturday night. The group let off some steam with a meal that covered most of the menu, plus shots of Patron, followed by Vueve Clicquot and more. [Grub Street]
Monkey Bar: Mayor Bloomberg, former Facebook president Sean Parker, Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey, and more big industry names mingled at Vanity Fair’s New Establishment cocktail party on Tuesday night. [Page Six/NYP]
PH-D: The NBA players followed dinner on Saturday with a trip twelve stories up, where the D.J. at PH-D personalized his set in their honor. After popping a few bottles (but before hitting their final stop), Lebron and crew ran into Aziz Ansari at the Dream and they capped the night off at Avenue. [Grub Street]
Ashley Greene of Twilight and Reeve Carney of Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn off the Dark were spotted at the Dream Downtown on Tuesday. The superhuman couple isn’t afraid to take their relationship public; Greene requested LMFAO’s “Sexy and I Know It” for the pair to dance to at the club. [NYDN]
Pulqueria: Susan Sarandon celebrated her 65th birthday with boyfriend Jonathan Bricklin and a quiet dinner. A fellow diner observed the couple sampling a few tequila cocktails at the new spot on Doyers Street — perhaps they tried the pulque cocktail? — and calling it an early night. [Page Six/NYP]
Tenjune: The meatpacking club was packed on Friday night for its fifth anniversary party. Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Brooke Hogan, Maxwell, designer Richie Rich, and many more celebs spent the night rocking out to music by D.J. Swizz Beatz. [Haute Living]
The Waverly Inn: Jonathan Ames, Ted Danson, Jason Schwartzman, Oliver Platt, HBO entertainment president Sue Naegle, and the rest of the cast of Bored to Death got together to celebrate the premiere of season three. While the end of the summer can be a downer, it does have at least one upside: New York’s notables are back from vacation, and are hitting their favorite dining spots around the city in full-swing. The camaraderie was high as Yankees, Giants, and Rangers shared a dining room, A-listers assembled for Gwenyth Paltrow’s birthday, and castmates celebrated premieres. But it wasn’t all smooth eating this week: Jennifer Aniston boo Justin Theroux’s bike was the victim of an anonymous trickster and some lunch meat yesterday morning. Find out where he and Jen went for dinner later that night, and more celebrity settings, straight ahead.

Abe & Arthur’s: A slew of sports stars headed to the meatpacking on Saturday: Derek Jeter dined with former Yankees outfielder Gerald Williams and Michael Jordan, New York Giants Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs sat at the next table, and Rangers Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik, and Brandon Prust were also at the restaurant that night. [Page Six/NYP]
Buddakan: Bradley Cooper joined Alexander Skarsgård, Steve Martin, Jason Sudeikis, and Radiohead, to name a few, at the SNL after-party last weekend. The large crew split up throughout the night; Cooper sneaked off to the upstairs cocktail lounge with an unidentified brunette while Lorne Michaels, Kristen Wiig, and fellow cast members dined in the golden library. Meanwhile, Bill Hader and Paul Rudd coupled up to trade one-liners. [Page Six/NYP]
Craft: Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux have been hitting the streets again this week in New York, with dinner at Colicchio’s Flatiron flagship last night — hopefully a little farm-fresh food got rid of the sour taste Theroux was surely left with after the morning’s bologna incident. [Popsugar]
Four Seasons: Seth Rogen, Anna Kendrick, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt toasted to 50/50’s New York debut with a celebratory dinner on Monday. [In Style]
Lavo: Jon Huntsman enjoyed a quiet drink here last weekend, ducking out just before the Riviera Sundays crowd and nighttime clubgoers piled in. [Page Six/NYP]

Primola: Harry Belafonte met with ICM agent Esther Newberg to discuss his upcoming memoir My Song and subsequent book tour. [Page Six/NYP]
Tamarind: GILT Groupe CEO Kevin Ryan and Senator Chuck Schumer ate Indian food earlier this week. [Page Six/NYP]
Tertulia: Gwyneth Paltrow celebrated her 39th birthday with husband Chris Martin, Jay-Z, and Beyoncé on Monday. From her tweet on Wednesday about a “horrific hangover at JFK,” we’re guessing the night (and probably into the next day) involved more than a few tapas. [Popsugar, NYDN]

LiLo was seen lip-locking at Beauty & Essex.

Fashion Week may be behind us, but there’s never a shortage of date-swapping, lip-locking celebrities hitting New York’s culinary scene to keep us entertained. Ryan Reynolds left the Darby solo last night, while Justin Timberlake reignited old flames with Jessica Biel there last weekend. Certainly one to keep us guessing about his romantic interests, Timberlake was also spotted getting post-clubbing pizza with Scarlett Johansson — who “cozied up” with Bradley Cooper at Provocateur the other night. Lindsay Lohan caused a scene at Beauty & Essex (for the second time this month) when she gave her mom a sloppy surprise for her birthday. But it wasn’t all drama this week; there were plenty of well-behaved stars out on the town, too. More celebrity sightings straight ahead.

Beauty & Essex: Lindsay Lohan’s mean-girl antics — terrorizing a photographer, throwing a drink at a cocktail waitress — continue this week at various spots around the city. One notably unsettling incident: Lohan returned to the restaurant to celebrate her mom’s 49th birthday, and the two ended the night with a serious make-out session as Lohan’s younger brother sat awkwardly next to the pair. [Rumor Fix]
The Dutch: Jake Gyllenhaal visited the restaurant’s bar on Wednesday, where he was (unsurprisingly) surrounded by a group of fawning women. [Page Six/NYP]
The Darby: Justin Timberlake and ex Jessica Biel fueled rumors of their possible reconciliation when they were spotted dining here on Saturday, after viewing a boxing match together earlier that night. [Contact Music]
Ryan Reynolds met friends at the supper club last night. Notably absent was Olivia Wilde, whom the actor’s rumored to be dating after they shared lunch at Sant Ambroeus and a strolled through Tribeca last weekend. [INF Daily, Us]
Double Seven: Mick Jagger celebrated the release of his new album, SuperHeavy, at a star-studded party. Celebs in attendance included Daphne Guinness (whom, by the way, you shouldn’t expect to see dining out in New York, even with an exhibit at F.I.T.; “I’ll eat when I’m dead,” Guinness recently told The New Yorker), Lorne Michaels, Tommy Hilfiger, and Gayle King, to name a few. The rocker shared a booth and a champagne toast with L’Wren Scott, A.R. Rahman, Dave Stewart, and bar owner Jeffrey Jah. [Page Six/NYP]
Il Cantinori: Jennifer Aniston and beau Justin Theroux are getting serious, shopping for kitchen supplies at Sur la Table and double dating with Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor on Thursday. Aniston ate the branzino (no oil, no dressing), and Stiller picked up the tab at the end of the meal. [INF Daily, Popsugar via Us]
Marea: Ryan Seacrest visited Barry Diller’s table for a quick hug, where Diller was sitting with Barbara Walters and Oscar de la Renta. [Page Six/NYP]
The Mark: Though perfectly comfortable surrounded by bodyguards while dining here on Wednesday, Princess Cristina of Spain was thrown off her game and said to have nervously giggled when she spotted Woody Allen at a neighboring table. [Page Six/NYP]
1Oak: And this is where it gets interesting: Timberlake and Johansson reportedly left 1Oak together the same weekend, and got pizza (could it be Artichoke?) nearby at 5:30 a.m. — even celebrities crave a good slice at the end of the night — before heading back to her apartment. [Entertainmentwise]
Provocateur: Not one to go unnoticed, Scarlett Johansson quickly stole Bradley Cooper’s attention from model Cheyenne Tozzi, and the two were said to be flirting and holding hands all night. [NYDN]
Rose Bar: Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati hosted a black-tie event at the hotel, and those who weren’t quite ready to call it a night continued the party at Rose Bar. [Page Six/NYP]
Sfoglia: The Italian eatery served its award-winning Bolognese, among other dishes, to Lance Armstrong, Mandy Moore, and the president of Tanzania this week. [Grub Street]

Urban Decay is more than red lipstick, it’s red sauce too.

To be a sophisticated New Yorker these days, ya gotta know fashion and food. Deal with it. Here are a few fun options for tasting a little of both during Fashion Week.

When you order a Quartino Bellini at Asellina during Fashion Week, they’ll bring you a quartino of Prosecco and three fresh juices so you can mix your own bellini (or two) at the table ($15).

Head over to Fig & Olive’s meatpacking location and receive a complimentary board of Mediterranean hors d’oeuvre with your cocktail, a perfect snack to boost your energy before you head out for the night; daily during Fashion Week, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Enjoy a “Corsino Cooler,” Corsino’s signature cocktail, for a refreshing pick-me-up after a day of shows.

The Empire Hotel brings back “Don’t Feed the Models” to their cocktail menu for Fashion Week this year, as well as new drink additions such as “Avant-garde-tini” and “Couture on the Catwalk,” available through September at the lobby bar ($15). The Empire’s Fashion Week Ambassadors will sport a custom dress by Moises de la Renta (of Oscar).

Boulud Sud, A Voce, and Telepan are among 23 Lincoln Square–area restaurants participating in Fashion Plate Prix Fixe during Fashion Week. The restaurants will offer a three-course lunch or dinner (approximately $29 for lunch, $35 dinner), some with optional drink pairing, through September 15.

Also returning for Fashion Week this year is Lincoln Square Crew Cuts, which will offer discounts from 6 to 15 percent at places including ‘wichcraft, Breadsoul Café, and many others. Featuring quick and easy (and now more affordable) takeout options, these restaurants are perfect if you’re constantly on the move this week.

Model and activist Elettra Wiedmann takes on-the-go Fashion Week dining to a new level with Goodness, her pop-up restaurant in Ed’s Chowder House. The restaurant will offer healthy and locally sourced food (for the most part — fried chicken and desserts on the “Badness” side of the menu). Chefs like Nicholas Wilber of Fat Radish will design daily specials. Open Sunday through Wednesday during Fashion Week, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Try POM cocktails like the Pret-a-POMtini and POM Couture, created for Fashion Week by Dale DeGroff and mixologists from Prohibition. They’ll be served during the designer shows at Lincoln Center, and at after parties for Rebecca Minkoff (Rose Bar) and BCBG Max Azria (1 Oak).

Friday, September 9, Duo Restaurant & Lounge (72 Madison Avenue) will debut their weekly Supper Fridays, beginning with dinner at 8 p.m., followed by performances and live music. In honor of Fashion Week, this Friday will feature a fashion show by designer Leonid Gurevich and music by D.J.’s Max K and Ivan Melnik. Reservations are required.

Spice Market will serve the Fashionista this week, a limited-edition Fashion Week cocktail made with lychee raspberry puree and elderflower syrup ($12).

If you’re in town for Fashion Week and staying at the Mondrian Soho, Royalton, Morgans Hotel, or the Hudson Hotel (or even if you’re not), be sure to sample their fashion-inspired specialty cocktails: Winter White, Pencil Skirt, or Little Black Dress ($10).

Urban Decay and Eddie’s Pizza Truck are pairing up for Fashion Week to bring Eddie’s thin-crust slices to Lincoln Center. The truck will be parked near Lincoln Center from Saturday, September 10, through Monday, serving pizza and daily specials (renamed “the Naked,” “the Smokey,” etc. by Urban Decay) to Fashion Week ticket holders. Preorder before you leave the show through Urban Delivery and skip the lines. Open 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; follow UrbanDecay411 on Twitter for location updates.
