Ah, the irony! It looks like Studio B, one of our Top 5 Dance Clubs, may not be legally permitted to allow patrons to dance. According to the Brooklyn Paper, Community Board 1’s Public Safety Committee voted 2-1 to recommend that the Department of Consumer Affairs deny the club’s application for a cabaret license, with the committee’s chairman saying, “The club broke so many rules, it’s simply disgusting.” He was presumably referring to the fact that, according to New York Shitty, Studio B didn’t apply for a Place of Assembly permit until its new rooftop had already been open for some time (it's currently temporarily closed). According to the Brooklyn Paper, neighbors also complained that the nightspot was “noisy, dirty, overcrowded and the host of illegal parties and spontaneous ‘Girls Gone Wild’-style nudity.” To be fair, that could also describe a typical G-train ride.
